I do have the same problem when testing with the latest version of Jlink but it was OK with the file I sent to you. Could you let me know which Jlink driver version you have ?

Have you tried to connect to another USB port ? Please try to test with and without an USB hub as well.

I own two PCA10040 boards and both show the issue (tested on Windows 10 and current Debian stable, identical results).

Regarding the UART example, are you referring to this: https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/sdk_nrf5_v17.1.0/ble_sdk_app_nus_eval.html ?

The opening note warns:

Note: You can run this example on nRF52833 with the S140 SoftDevice.

Can I use it as is on PCA10040 board (nRF52832)?

Hi P,

Please try to test using a UART example to check if have UART communication on both ways ? I suspect that the sniffer didn't receive the command from the PC.
If you have other nRF52 DK please also test.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply.

I flashed the Segger chip with the firmware you provided but nothing changed.

I'm continuing to see advertisments from near BLE devices even after having selected the one I would follow and after having paired that device with my smartphone.

It's like if the REQ_FOLLOW command from host PC to the sniffer board is ignored/discarded altogether.

Please let me know if you need further info/log.

Hi Pierguiseppe,

The NO at nRF52832DK and USB means it doesn't support the USB connection directly between PC and the nRF52. This is straight forward because nRF52832 doesn't have USB peripheral. This is not applied to the USB port that connect to the Segger chip which communicate with the nRF52832 via UART.

It seems that the latest Jlink driver from Segger break the communication between PC and the NRF52.

Please try to install the j-link-ob-sam3u128-v2-nordicsemi-170724.bin firmware from here to the Segger chip.
What you need to do is to hold the IF BOOT/RESET button and power reset the board. After that you can drag and drop the file into the "BOOTLOADE" disk drive that appear in your computer.
