&lt;p&gt;The VBUS pin is the input for the 3.3V regulator for the USB communications lines, D- and D+, it is also used for the USBDETECT and USBREMOVED events. Grounding the VBUS pin is recommended when not using the USB interface, the USB regulator decoupling, DECUSB, can be floating when not used.&lt;/p&gt;
