we notice that the PPK2 doesn't like when we are letting it have the current reversed, ie when we are activating our PMIC to charge the battery.
This is a very good feature, to be able to allow current in both directions, and measure positive

RE: PPK2 requested feature for PPK3

Another feature that would be great to have is current flow limitation. For example, I’d like to be able to set a maximum current limit , say, 20 mA- to prevent the device under test from drawing more than that. Is this something that could be supported?

Also, will you be able to give an update what stage the nRF PPK team is at regarding the next release of PPK3, or if there’s an estimated release date. Any updates on that?

It could be a nice feature for sure, and I have forwarded the request to the PPK team.

Also your previous request (which I see I haven't answered) was forwarded to the team.

RE: PPK2 requested feature for PPK3

Hi Stian Røed Hafskjold!

I would like to request a feature missing for upcoming PPK3.

* Voltage measurement.

I will explain. We do measure the low currents for our product to have a very long battery life (draw about 400uA continuously avg)

But, there are sometimes bugs like after 5 or 10 days of continuous running, where a larger 16mA current will be drawn. And not seeing the battery pole voltage cannot help us determine if we have a drop below accepted range for all IC:s or if we have a dropout or if it is some other problem. We notice one chip is becoming restarted for reason for is unknown (probably voltage related our guess). I.e. we might need to increase some capacitance on board to solve that. But not being able to measure voltage along with current limits this.

Today we will need to use OTII instead since it has this feature.

If you can add it to PPK2 it would make it much more usable.

RE: PPK2 requested feature for PPK3

Another feature we are missing is, proper scroller for long recordings. To drag the screen graph with the mouse pointer is useless and tedious when we have 3 weeks of data and want to keep a certain level of zoom to be able to see power movements. We would need as in the example picture.

Also, that the scrolling "bar" doesn't become incredibly small because of large data set, that would also make it useless.

Having cursor keys as switching a page left or right, instead of the scroller would also help.

cursor up - zoom in

cursor down - zoom out

cursor left - go one graph page left

cursor right - go one graph page right.

And please support repeating keys so a key can be held down for continuous repeating for example scrolling left. But only activate the scrolling as long as the key is held down. Otherwise the problem could become that lots of key events are recorded but the graph isn't fast enough so it's gonna scroll forever after releasing the key... not a wanted behavior.
