We are switching from vanilla zephyr to NCS and would like some directions about support for zephyr LTS2. Can we expect Nordic to keep patches to NCS 1.8.x tracking zephyr releases on LTS2 (v2.7-branch)? e.g. NCS 1.8.1 pointing to zephyr 2.7.1-ncs1

RE: Will NCS keep patches to 1.8.x tracking zephyr LTS2 (v2.7-branch)?

Hi,

We will backport bugs and security features that are specific to our devices, but we will not keep our tags/branches exactly as zephyr does. Their LTS is not inherited to our releases in NCS.
If so, what would be the estimated release intervals after a zephyr 2.7.x is released? Could already give some ETA for 1.8.1?
If a bug (or bugs in plural) is discovered, which is severe enough to trigger a backport, a new minor release is tagged. For future releases and roadmap related questions, please contact your local regional sales manager.

If you do not have the contact details of your local RSM, please feel free to send me a direct message with your location and I'll provide you with contact details.

Kind regards,
