Yes, for a pc-dongle it is the nRF52840 Dongle we recommend.
There might exist third-party products that have made dongles with housings using the nRF52840, but I have no personal experience or knowledge of any of these.

Since you plan on connecting the devices over BLE you will not need to consider if devices 'match' other than that they support the same BLE functionality, such as BLE 5.2 Long range, etc. There is nothing else that will need to 'match'.
