Thanks for the support. The down-link communication is working now. It was some issue with the service provider and it has been resolved now.

Also The NRF9160 has PSM enabled in this above example code. this makes the device stop listening to the server every 1 minute for 60mins (The device is sleeping for 60mins and wakes up for only 1minute).

The issue is resolved.

I have got the app registered default as well as specific.

Now I am trying is to get a command (for example : ping command) to the device from my mobile app over NIDD. That is where i am facing the issue.

As per the APIs provided for this by the JIO, the command is received by jio server. But my device has not received anything.

Hi,

I also faced the same issue, You need to enter the exact details provided in default app activation if you are working on the default app activation function. and once you send the packet to jio cloud, you will receive acknowledgment at first and you call nidd receive function again so that you can receive an app activation response or error code from jio server.

The logs You asked is shared with you in message.

The dummy data was sent and acknowledgement was received.

But there should be one more packet sent by server. haven't received it.

Hi,

There is no specific condition for this to fail.

When i am sending data. I am getting the acknowledgement of that. this part is working fine.

but when i have to receive the data. i am just listening for any data from the server. and i have not received anything yet.

The acknowledgement is received when i send the data. that is from device to cloud communication.

But for cloud to device communication. I have received nothing. Logs only contain the RRC idle and cell ID changed data. nothing else.

This sample is working for me and i am able to successfully send data to the server using NIDD.

Now the issue i am stuck at is to receive data over NIDD.

I am constantly listening for the data over the socket port. but received nothing.

is this the issue with the server or i need change my reception process to something else???

What does the JioThings Proprietary Protocol need to run? Difficult for me to tell what you need to start based JioThings Proprietary Protocol. You will need to provide more details.

Here is an example to configure NIDD in MoSH, using shell command link:

Hi, I spoke with JIO team. they are saying they have their own NIDD based JPP(JioThings Proprietary Protocol ) for sending and receiving data. I have to integrate this NIDD based protocol into Nrf9160 modem shell example(if that's work for this purpose).

I'm not aware of the JIO protocol, it is difficult for me to tell what is required. I assume the libraries that we use is sufficient for that usage.

Hi, JIO have their own protocol for sending data to cloud. Data from nrf9160 goes to their cloud using their API implementation and from their cloud it will be re directed to our cloud i.e. AWS, Azure etc. To implement their API, what are the minimum things is required from nrf9160 side?

As mentioned in the ticket I've linked to, you can use the nRF9160: Modem Shell, or you can have a look at the nRF9160: PDN sample which is based on the PDN library.

The +CGDCONT AT Command allows you to define APN as non-ip.

I will need more information in order to support you more on the path of NIDD.

There is no sample targeting NIDD specifically. We do have a the modem shell sample which allows you to test this. Have a look at my answers in this ticket.
