Have you find out if "phase-based distance measurement" is also suported on NRF52832 ?

Hello Zach,

You could install the nRF Connect SDK v2.0.2 which is available in the Toolchain Manager(This is the most recent version of SDK available)..

Take a look at the sample on our page: https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/latest/nrf/samples/bluetooth/nrf_dm/README.html

The Distance measurement application is different from the AoA/AoD and doesn't require antenna arrays as in AoA/AoD application.. The requirements are explained in the link provided.. Also, in the new version of nRF Connect SDK, support for nrf5340, nrf52840 and 52DK has also been added..

I just have a question about this software package, so you mean we can use any boards that integrated with nRF52833 or nRF52840 chip to test the package and obtain the precise distance by using phase-based distance measurement method, is this right?

Are there any else points that we need to concern, such as the BLE antenna?

The nRF52840 does not support Bluetooth 5.1 Direction Finding (AoA/AoD) I&Q data but it still supports NDT. These features are not correlated.

The examples lists the 52840 as a supported device for the distance toolbox.

Is this correct? As I remember it, the 52840 didn't support phase data; only the NRF5340 and 52833 did.

Has this changed?

Hi Juan,

The phase-based measurement is different from the AoA/AoD technique.. The Nordic Distance Toolbox is a proprietary library delivered with the nRF Connect SDK.. It allows the devices to measure the distance between each other.. Take a look at the example : https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/1.9.0/nrf/samples/bluetooth/nrf_dm/README.html
