This would both confirm the problem and also help us choose an antenna in the future.<br /><br /><br />About UDP vs TCP, indeed, thanks for the suggestion! At this stage we want to know what the raw network quality is (both loss and delay), and TCP would basically hide the loss into delay or other issues as seen from the app level.<br /><br /><br weak:</p> <p><a href="https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/index.jsp?topic=%2Fref_at_commands%2FREF%2Fat_commands%2Fmob_termination_ctrl_status%2Fnbrgrsrp.html">To save energy, nRF9160 does not search and measure neighboring cells for mobility purposes if the level and quality of the serving cell signal are above the thresholds defined by the network.</a></p> <p>So I believe the reason your device keeps switching cells is because it is unable to find a signal it is satisfied with, and this threshold seems to be set by the network, not the device.</p> <p>Also, yes I do believe it is likely that packet loss can happen on a cell change.</p> <p>If it is very important for your application that every packet reaches the device, have you considered using TCP rather than UDP?</p> <p>Best
