Allright, I got it working with nRFgo Studio as well.

This is what works in Windows 10 so far

nRF tools 6.2.2
nRF go Studio 1.19
J-Link 4.98c

I hope that the changes will be documented and tested for Windows 10 in the newer nRF tools! :)

Yes I'll try an older version. But the newer version 7.5.0 has no automatic erasure of the USER flash. I only see options for complete erasure. --clean in 7.5.0 and --chiperase in 7.5.2

Could you please document somewhere what's changed in the newer versions and how to actually erase the program area (not the softdevice area) ?

Also soft device is programmed in Region 1 and not Region 0 using your instructions. But now that I got nRF go Studio working, I put it in Region 0.

Great! nRFgo Studio is not tested on Windows 10. nRFgo uses nrfjprog. Could you try to install an older version of nRF Tools? Try 6.2.2, here. If you get that error I guess you need to erase first.

Oh you had imgurl problems, right? The programming worked! I now have a working chip again. But nrfgo studio does not work.

I have a build action that used to program and reset. How is this done now? As mentioned I get the error

There are no libusb drivers present in device manager. How does nrfgo studio communicate with my device? Have you tested it in win10?

Also, I did test with nrfjprog --program and then separate --reset. But I still get an error "The area to write is not erased".

You images are not included, so it is hard to say what is wrong there.

nrfjprog.exe --reset --program ARM/Debug/nrf51422_xxac_s110.hex

ERROR: Two arguments were provided that cannot be combined. Use --help to read ERROR: about the valid argument combinations.

I tried running it with --chiperase --program instead, but then the LEDs and everything went black. Did that pulverize everything on the chip?

Do you mean --eraseall? This will erase everything.

Do this:

nrfjprog -f NRF51 -e
nrfjprog -f NRF51 --program softdevice.hex
nrfjprog -f NRF51 --program application.hex

I can't help you with nRFgo Studio but if you think that nrfjprog works then try to megre Softdevice,App,Bootloader and ValidSettings in one file and program it. Here is full guide
