We already have basic <a href="https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/sdk_nrf5_v17.0.2/uart_example.html">peripheral UART</a> and <a href="https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/sdk_nrf5_v17.0.2/ble_sdk_app_nus_eval.html">BLE app UART</a> examples in the nRF5 SDK that use the UARTE. I also see that the error code you have added is including mentions of LIBUARTE, and not &quot;regular&quot; UARTE. These are somewhat different, read up on <a href="https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/sdk_nrf5_v17.1.0/lib_libuarte.html">LIBUARTE </a>here, and <a href="https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/sdk_nrf5_v17.1.0/hardware_driver_uart.html">UARTE </a>here.</p> <p>I&#39;m not sure why you&#39;ve added the Timer peripheral configs as well, but the reason they are grey on one side is that they aren&#39;t enabled, you might have enabled them in another build configuration that you have built for, or that you haven&#39;t compiled and built the application after setting these configs.</p> <p>Best regards,</p> <p>Simon</p><div style="clear:both;"></div>
