We are currently stumped and are looking for guidance. A brief overview of what's needed from our client are as follows:
1) From the nRF mesh app, send a start command to all peripherals (can range from 2-10 devices) to turn on all

RE: Bluetooth mesh - peripherals will do instructions only once all them receives the message.

Hi.

The application is not an official sample provided by nordic, but an example uploaded by another devzone user working on the same as you.

I'll test the example and see if I can reproduce.

I'm interested in using the Time model in order to implement time synchronization and to do so, I needed to learn how to use zephyr RTOS to implement it using the NCS provided here https://www.bluetooth.com/blog/bluetooth-mesh-developer-study-guide-v2-0/.

I'm at the chapter where they teach how to implement the light code on my nRF52832 DK but I was getting errors when compiling the provided solution code. A snip of the error is shown at the bottom.

Note: I'm using nRF SDK v1.9.1 from Toolchain Manager on Segger.

I was getting something similar when I tried flashing the Switch client solution code but after changing value CONFIG_MAIN_STACK_SIZE = 4096 (previously 512), it worked. Doing this did not work with the Light code.

It gets harder to learn how to properly develop a mesh application when the solution code is not working.

Please let me know if you are able to run it on your end.

To replicate issue:

1) Download the provided zip file from bluetooth

2) Run solution code "Light" on nRF52832 DK.

RE: Bluetooth mesh - peripherals will do instructions only once all them receives the message.

Hi Joakim,

Thanks for your link on the Time model. I didn't know that there is an SDK for the Zephy RTOS. I'll be trying to implement and see the performance of their integrated TAI.

I'll be going through the study guide provided by Nordic. I'll let you know how it goes.

Best regards,
From the nRF mesh app, send a start command to all peripherals (can range from 2-10 devices) to turn on all their timer/counter that will be used for keeping track of the elapsed time.
If I understood the question, you want the devices to start their timer/counter at the same time?

_____

1) The link you referred should be possible. But I must admit that I haven't tested that using BLE Mesh so I really can't say much about potential issues or challenges from that implementation.

Do you have a preferred version of the SDK? nRF5 SDK for Mesh or NCS?

You should be able to use the Time model in order to get a synchronized time across the nodes.
Read more about that here: https://www.bluetooth.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/1903_Mesh-Models-Overview_FINAL.pdf

There is also a previous ticket covering this, including an example:
https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/f/nordic-q-a/75537/mesh-time-server-not-responding-to-bt_mesh_time_cli_time_set-zephyr
