Hi Stefan,

The solution might be following instead of reinstall:

1. Confirm you have the expected ToolChain from Welcome page->Quick Setup

2. Delete the old build folder for the target project and Add Build Configuration.

Just try this solution if you have the same issue. Let me know if this works.

Got it to work again by installing the toolchain in a different location and changing my workspace directory. Also, did a fresh install of VS code and its extensions. Thank god I had a backup of the project I was working on.

I still don't understand how'd thing just get messed up..
