Hi,

I think you should contact the manufacturer of the EVK that you're using and ask if they have proper configuration for usage of qspi flash with this board.

As previously mentioned, it looks like it is the same routing as we have on our nRF52840-DK, and I ran the example with qspi, configured for the board bl654_dvk, but running on the nRF52840-DK, with no issues on my end.

Yes, sorry about that. It must've been a typo from when I changed it back regarding your last message. However, using the pin configuration from the github link you sent is the starting point for me from when I started the post and still does not work.

Looks like a number snuck into the csn definition:

	csn-pins = <117>;

It seems that the bl654 board has copied the same pinout as the nRF52840 DK, so you can just copy the definitions from here:

No, you're setting the physical pin number, while you should set the GPIO number.

Could you please try the suggestion that I previously posted?

From the datasheet here https://www.lairdconnect.com/documentation/datasheet-bl654 page 12 has the pinout of the bl654 board with their equivalents on the nRF52840. I believe they are equivalent.

Are you certain that your DTS setup is correct as per the bl654 schematic?

sck-pin should be 19, csn should be 17, and io-pins should be 20-23, atleast how I read their schematic.

Hi,

Have you connected an external qspi flash or are you using the internal one on the bl654-dvk?

Have you checked that the on-board spi flash has routed all the qspi pins?

I just tested it on a nRF52840dk and it worked as you saw as well. It is something specific to the bl654 module then that is causing an issue. Any idea what that might be?

Sorry for that, it seems that this peripheral/node isn't required to delete.

This is the overlay and conf file that I placed in the board folder for the bl654_dvk:

The pin-outs are edited to match the nRF52840-DK, as I do not have this module at-hand.

This ran as expected when flashed:

I just tried putting that line in, but it throws "parse error: undefined node label 'mx25r6435f'" when I try to build. I tired adding the "@0" as well. Using "/delete-node/ &spi1;" is recognized but does not seem to solve the issue. In the device tree the node does show up however, I have tried manually disabling spi1 as well, but no luck. Here is my .conf and .overlay files.

I have not tried this on a nRF52840dk, does that board have a spi flash on it?

Did you try this on a nRF52840-DK first to see if it worked there?

I see now that the bl654_dvk board defines this as a spi-nor device in the overlay, not a qspi device:

Try adding this to the top of your .overlay file:

/delete-node/ &mx25r6435f;

then setup your &qspi structure with the "MX25R64" labeled device in it.

If it still does not work, could you share your overlay and config files?

Hi,

For the example to work, you must define a $(board).overlay and $(board).conf file in the boards catalog of the example.

In your case it would be boards/bl654_dvk.conf and boards/bl654_dvk.overlay.

You should follow the setup similar to how it is done for the nRF52840-DK, with QSPI being enabled:
