I need to control several motors using the nRF52832. The problem is that my laptop cannot supply enought current to run the motors, if I try to run it, windows detects a power surge and cuts off power to the usb. I thought a solution would be

RE: Powering development kit with external power supply

Okay, thank you for the information!

RE: Powering development kit with external power supply

Hi,
I have a supply of 7.5 volts, would that be too high for the dk?
This is too high for the DK, as described here:

https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/ug_nrf52832_dk/UG/nrf52_DK/hw_power_sup.html?cp=4_2_4_5_2

You should use a mosfet/transistor to switch in these external devices and voltage nets that exceed VDD_NRF.

Kind regards,

Håkon
