I can connect to my NRF52832 with my dongle and BLE app on nRF Connect for Desktop.

I was wondering if I can send and receive text messages via the UART from my computer -- just like from the mobile app.

So you could search the inernet for alternatives.

Alternatively, you could still connect a Developement Kit to your computer and do as I suggested in:

You can connect one of our Dongles or Development Kits to the computer, and program it with Bluetooth: Central UART sample to use the serial terminal to write messages over Bluetooth Low Energy to your nRF52832.
[/quote]

Is there a tutorial for that I can follow

I am using Windows by the way.

RE: UART communication with PC

I would say that this is the easiest way.

If you PC have Bluetooth capabilities, you could use that instead. For this we do supply tools, but there should be generic tools for it, such as BlueZ for Linux.

So I will have to program the development kit to connect and talk to my external device?

RE: UART communication with PC

Hi
