Hi Marte,

Just to let you know, I completely removed all nRF Connect SDK versions (and a Zephyr library that I had in another unrelated folder). Then I cleaned VS Code by removing the ~/.vscode file and ~/Library/Application Support/Code folder. I then re-installed three versions of nRF Connect SDK: 1.8.0, 1.9.0 and 1.9.1.

Joyful, joyful, I can now create build configurations for nrf5340dk_nrf5340_cpuapp and nrf5340dk_nrf5340_cpunet for all three SDK versions.

I don't know what the original problem was but I suspect that some configuration in the SDK was corrupted/set incorrectly. Deleting the SDKs and re-installing cleaned things up.

Hi Marte,

I get the west error when I try to build a new build configuration. At the moment, I don't have any old build configurations to delete:

Clicking on the "+" sign to create a new build configuration gives me the west error.

I have also done a clean install of the nRF SDK (via Toolchain Manager) and completely cleaned an re-installed VS Code several times but I still get the error.

Hi AC,

When you wrote that you changed back to v1.8.0 I read it as you no longer seeing the error after switching back, but now I see that I was mistaken.

Have you tried to create a new build configuration after updating, or are you using the same build configuration as previously? I have seen this issue before, and in that case deleting the old build configuration and creating a new one solved the issue.

The above is the environment that does not build. I did make a typo above. The toolchain install dir is:

Toolchain install dir: /opt/nordic/ncs/v1.8.0/toolchain

not

Toolchain install dir: /opt/nordic/ncs/v1.8.0/zephyr/toolchain
