sorry for the so late response- (vacation).

in sdk11 it was possible for the device to decide if it "wants" passkey or not .(at init time)

cant be changed at a later time.

also- at sdk11 it was possible to have some characteristics that don't need passkey- while other do.

that's why I thought that it could be done on sdk17.

anyway: that's all in the past.

2. Correct. I can’t understand how this was possible in sdk v11.

1st issue: your solution works just the way I wanted !!!!

2. so if my project is based on having a PASSKEY - then I cant "run without it"?

in SDK 11 it was possible , although - there - the passkey was relevant for each characteristic separately

1. You may consider allowing repairing:

2. The security is ensured by initializing the GATT database (services and characteristics) with a specific security level for access and also by declaing the security capabilities by the peripheral, if you only reduce the capabilities, but still have the same security requirements for access, then this will not work.
