&lt;p&gt;There&amp;#39;s a white-space in the &amp;quot;spm:&amp;quot; section of your pm_static.yml, but it also has several other issues wrt. partitioning, and it seems that you have defined a 16MByte flash in the overlay, and defined it as 8MB in the partition layout.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;There&amp;#39;s a link to a modified http_update project there with mcuboot secondary slot on external flash.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I do not have your exact spi flash to test against, but I tried to help you along the way by modifying the configuration/partition layout here:&lt;/p&gt;
