Following the manual install guide might sort out the conflicting compiler issue.

As there seems to be some conflict with the C compiler.

Hi Jonathan,

Yes, I did use the nRF Connect for Desktop and the Toolchain manager to install MS Visual Code. I just followed the steps as shown in the Nordic Academy. I did setup a VM on an old machine and went through the same steps there. That worked fine but is too slow to use for development.

Just to clarify, you have used the nRF Connect for desktop app and used the Toolchain manager ?
