&lt;p&gt;If this is the case it is because Android smartphones don&amp;#39;t support a UART service. Download &lt;a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=no.nordicsemi.android.nrftoolbox&amp;amp;hl=en"&gt;play.google.com/.../details&lt;/a&gt;. Open the app and go to the UART module. Then connect to the nRF51 from here.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This should fix your problem. If i misunderstood you try describing your problem better.&lt;/p&gt;
