Hi,

It is possible to do this using a cli installer directly. This is available as a part of the toolchain manager installation and is available for the supported OSes (win10, macOS11 and ubuntu20.04, should work on macOS12 as well). The cli utility will be made available as a separate tool once the distribution mechanism is implemented, hopefully within a few months. For using this you have to get hold of the relevant toolchain bundle. They are located here: http://developer.nordicsemi.com/.pc-tools/toolchain-v2/

Once downloaded you execute the following command line from your home dir (linux showed, assuming toolchain bundle v2.0.0 downloaded to the Downloads dir): ./.nrfconnect-apps/node_modules/pc-nrfconnect-toolchain-manager/resources/nrfutil-toolchain-manager/linux/nrfutil-toolchain-manager.exe install --toolchain-bundle ./Downloads/ncs-toolchain-linux-x86_64-v2.0.0-20220602T091954-9389261.tar.gz

FYI: The "install from other source" feature in the toolchain manager gui does not currently work for NCS v2.0.0, only for v1.x. This will be added in later releases and the the CLI line can be replaced by using the GUI feature for offline installs

Hi,

Following the automatic installation guide you can find the nrfconnect appimage here https://www.nordicsemi.com/Products/Development-tools/nrf-connect-for-desktop/download#infotabs. Navigating to the Linux tab you will find the same image you are trying to install through your proxy server. Running this image you will open nRF Connect for Desktop for Linux, where you can open the toolchain manager and install NCSv2.0.0 from there.

I have asked the developers of the application if they have seen this issue before when using a proxy server and if the setup can be used together with a proxy server. I will get back to you as soon as I hear from them, most likely within early next week.

last night i set the correct proxy server and begin to download sdk .but when it was downloading one of the source packages, it stalled for hours and I had to restart the software download in another folder location and get the another trouble

now i get another trouble in the toolchain manager , the same to the title question that is nothing on the toolchain manager and the log window shows "failed to download toolchain index file" and the "console" tab is no issurs.

Hi,

Did you follow the link to configure the proxy server to see if it is set up properly? It seems like the issue lies there and that your computer can not reach the proxy server and times out due to that.

If you could investigate that and return to me with the results and in the meanwhile I will ask the developers of the tool if they have seen this before

1. it return "Load settings from /home/wrj/.config/nrfconnect/settings.json" , appimage is placed in the folder

2. if i run it without proxy-server , it will report error because i am using the network of company that need proxy,

Hi,

This should work for the image you are using.

What does the terminal return when you run "./nrfconnect-3.11.1-x86_64.appimage --proxy-server=192.168.0.112:8888" from the folder you have placed the file?
Have you downloaded the appimage to your computer and tried to run it without the --proxy-server part?
Could you press ctrl+shift+i while having the Toolchain Manager open and navigate to the "console" tab? This tab could give any indications as to what might be wrong.
