Working on my Ubuntu 20.04 LTS host, I recently lost ability to flash my nRF9160dk board. The embedded J-Link is detected by its serial number, but an attempt to flash Nordic's at_client sample fails with the following log.log error messages

RE: On Linux update nRF9160DK interface MCU firmware steps?

Hi Ted,

I have some suggestions for your debugging:

1) Please make sure you have installed the following software on your ubuntu and try again.

nRF Command Line Tools - Downloads - nordicsemi.com

SEGGER - The Embedded Experts - Downloads - J-Link / J-Trace

2) Test with another nRF9160 DK board or another PC(Win/Linux/Mac) to confirm which part causes the issue.

3) If the nRF9160 DK is the cause, you cannot use the same way as nRF52840DK to program J-Link OB on it. J-Link OB Debug Probe((supporting Cortex-M33) on nRF9160DK and nRF5340 is not reprogrammable by the bootloader and can be only updated by J-Link PC software. The log shows your J-Link OB should still be good.

Best regards,
