Okay, can you try erasing the firmware on the board with the nrfjprog --eraseall command in the nRF Command Line Tools, and then try connecting to the board again and open the DTM app. Make sure to press Yes when you get asked to program the device with the DTM firmware.

Simon, I am using the desktop app and the error message I get is in my original post.

Hi Ted

Are you using the Direct Test Mode application for the nRF Connect for Desktop app or the application in one of our SDKs? I just tested the Direct Test mode app myself and did not have any trouble setting the transmit power to 8dBm.

Are you seeing any error messages when trying to run the app?

Thanks for the response, however, I do not have access to the tools you cite. I only have access to DTM.

Seems there is a bug in the DTM code. But I think you will find it much easier to use the radio test example for this kind of testing.
