Update

I was able to get the nRF Terminal working by using:

JTAG (2x10 2.54mm) to SWD (2x5 1.27mm) Cable Adapter Board
10-pin 2x5 Socket-Socket 1.27mm IDC (SWD) Cable - 150mm long
Standalone Segger JLink

Unsure why it works with an external JLink and not the built-in one, both JLinks have the latest firmware.

This isn't a perfect fix but I'll suggest it an answer for the time being.

Hi,

As long as you are using a docker environment, I'm afraid we cannot help as we do not support this. And I would recommend you to install everything under a normal user account not using docker and with official toolchain bundle from the toolchain manager app.

We have a reason to use a Docker environment and it has worked well for us so far. We would like use it going forward unless we really can't.

Could expand on what you mean by:

If we created a user group, would this fix the issue? We have JLinkExe installed and working.

Hi,

It looks like the problem arises since you use Linux as root user. JLinkExe is what we use for RTT connection. The docker environment doesn't see to be a good idea and we also don't test it or support it.

Hi Priyanka! Thank you for the quick reply.

I'm not using either nRF Connect for Desktop or Toolchain Manager. I've installed everything manually as it's easier to manage in a container. I'm using NCS 2.0.0 and Zephyr SDK 0.14.2.

Did you install the nRF Connect for Desktop from the official site? What is the version of your nRF Connect for Desktop and also of the Toolchain Manager?
