I am fairly new to zephyr so I apologize for any "noob" errors i seem to present. I have been working with nrf52 dk board and have been able to accomplish many things, pwm, gpio, ble, etc. However I have decided to switch to a non nordic development

RE: trouble flashing arduino 33 with zephyr examples

Hi,
wondering if any update? thanks
My deepest apologies for the delayed reply.

According to the schematic (https://content.arduino.cc/assets/NANO33BLE_V4.0_sch.pdf), the green LED is P0.16, which corresponds to the "led1" defined in the board itself:

https://github.com/nrfconnect/sdk-zephyr/blob/v3.0.99-ncs1-1/boards/arm/arduino_nano_33_ble/arduino_nano_33_ble-common.dtsi#L25

If you build blinky for the "arduino_nano_33_ble" board, it will setup the ledX to point to the corresponding GPIOs.

To use "led1" instead of the default led0, change this line:

https://github.com/nrfconnect/sdk-zephyr/blob/v3.0.99-ncs1-1/samples/basic/blinky/src/main.c#L14

PS: the nano33 has a nrf52840 device on it, not a nrf5340 as you've added as the runner args.

PPS: If you're new to NCS, I can recommend looking at the ncs sdk academy: https://academy.nordicsemi.com/courses/nrf-connect-sdk-fundamentals/

Kind regards,

If you are using the Arduino Nano 33 BLE why do you need to modify board files? zephyr\boards\arm\arduino_nano_33_ble

What is the reason for using the nRF5340 as device in modified board.cmake file?

board_runner_args(jlink "--device=nrf5340_xxaa_app" "--speed=4000")
