Ok, so this means they have an IP connection, but for some reason, the UPD command on the CLI device has some issue showing it receives the UDP message.

Have you run a command like "udp connect fdde:ad00:beef:0:bb1:ebd6:ad10:f33 11" to specify it should listen to sending device IP on port 11 for coming UPD package.

openthread/README_UDP.md at main · openthread/openthread (github.com)

If the problem still exists, could you try to report this issue to Issues · openthread/openthread (github.com) about this potential bug on CLI UDP command?

Best regards,

Yes I can ping the target child successfully. and we can get the routing tables.

did you try to use the cli open UDP & Bind code? (bind multicast ( "::" ) to port 11)

Are you able to ping the target child node?

Have you checked the devices routing tables?

sorry for late update, I tried use (ML-EID) to send UDP message to child node but the child did not receive any message until changing the role to router.

I add ( CONFIG_OPENTHREAD_CHILD_SUPERVISION=y ) but did not work for me.

Have you tested with Mesh-Local EID (ML-EID)? I think you should use this address on your application.

I think using RLOC should be also fine on your test. Can you use ping to test? you can check the routing table of devices like Build a Thread network with nRF52840 boards and OpenThread?
