&lt;p&gt;Cutting the SB40 is what you need to do.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Schematics found under &lt;a href="https://www.nordicsemi.com/Products/Development-hardware/nRF5340-DK/Download?lang=en#infotabs"&gt;nRF5340-&amp;gt; Downloads -&amp;gt; Hardware files&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If you do not cut SB40, the current will not go through the PPK, as such:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;img style="max-height:240px;max-width:320px;" src="https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/resized-image/__size/640x480/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/4/pastedimage1658841708452v1.png" alt=" " /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;To cut the SB40, you need to first find the bridge on the DK:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;img style="max-height:240px;max-width:320px;" src="https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/resized-image/__size/640x480/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/4/pastedimage1658841874905v3.png" alt=" " /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Then cut it using a sharp objecy, so that you can no longer see the small copper thread connecting the half circles:&lt;/p&gt;
