Hi Sigurd,

If you refer to this annotated version of the package drawing, you can see that the vertical centre line of the thermal pad is not aligned with the vertical centre line for the package. I might infer that the offset is equal to e/2, but this should be explicitly stated on the drawing as the obligation is on Nordic to provide a fully dimensioned drawing.

I hope this illustration makes the issue clearer.

I would say that it is a safe to assume that the horizontal offset is the same as the vertical offset.

I also agree that this could be more clear in the hardware drawing.
The issue has been reported to our documentation team as well.

Also worth nothing that the diagram on page 798 of the nRF5340 Product Specification does not include all the necessary dimensions for the aQFN94 package, specifically the horizontal offset from the centre line for the thermal pad.

I would respectfully suggest that a review of the existing package drawings would also be a very good idea.

Thanks Sigurd, but taking PCB footprint dimensions from an existing Gerber file is very poor engineering and manufacturing practice.

Nordic obviously has this information as the library parts were created in Altium, what I'm asking for is that information to be made publicly available in the form of fully dimensioned drawings (with tolerances) as other semiconductor manufacturers do,

Hi,

In the downloads found at the nPM1100 product page and nRF5340 product page, there are four folders:

The Schematic files shows the schematic in PDF format.

The Production files are gerber files and such which should contain accurate measurements of the footprints used in the reference designs.
