I&#39;m not sure what crystal part you are using, but the pin assignments are different than some of the crystals I&#39;ve seen. The radio uses this crystal for RF modulation. Just a shot in the dark.</p> <p>Normally as you say, even a poor tuned board should get atleast a meter. Your transmission trace seems a tad narrow and likely not 50Ohms for a CoWG Trace.</p><div style="clear:both;"></div>
