As I mentioned in my Issue Filing that this problem comes when I compile, download and flash and then try to debug with the SEM.

I don't have this issue when I compile the exact same code with armgcc, flash it using nrfjprog, use JLinkRTTLogger or JLinkRTTViewer/Exe for logging. Everything works fine in this case

(I am asking because I have seen a bug in SES related to that).

If not, then this doesn't really look license related. It just looks like you are trying to enable the softdevice when it is already enabled. The return values from the API that is passed into APP_ERROR_CHECK() is a mechanism to check that the application running on the nRF is actually doing what you expect it to do.

I am using an SES which has a non-commercial license (image below)

When I compile this code examples/ble_peripheral/ble_app_hids_mouse/ also adding some code of my own I am unable to run it on the PCA10040 Dev Board. I am unable to even debug properly.

But I am able to compile and run the same code through armgcc folder using a make file and Cross compiler.

Both the ways of compiling have the same values of parameters defined in the linker.

I am using PCA10040 + S132 in the above folder.

Regards

I am not sure I understand your exact issues. Is the issue that you are not able to debug using SES? In that case, just in case you are not aware, you can get a free, but full license when developing on Nordic devices.

It has been a while since I did this, but it should look something like in this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRAG6yOqt_4

I have not tested Segger Embedded Studio without a licence, so I am not sure what it behaves like in that case.

Best regards,
