Its ok, I still have a couple of avenue's. I can continue to run Win10 inside 8.1 on a VM to do this, also looking into CircuitPython as an option. Thank for your time.

I double checked with our developers and nRF Connect Programmer app does not support Windows 8.1.

The NRF Programmer error shows the error that I pasted above. I will connect the dongle to my NRF52480 DK via Win 8.1 tomorrow afternoon and report what it says to you. Its early now at 4am and I need to get up in the actual morning so I will be back later to report. In the mean time, I hope you can find a solution, if not, like I mentioned, I will connect the DK tomorrow.

Hi there,

Exactly what error do you get and are you using nRF Connect Programmer or nRF Command Line Tools?

I'm pretty sure that we don't test Windows 8 when develop our programming sw. Also, note that EOL of Windows 8.1 is scheduled for January next year, so you might have to consider using a newer version of Windows either way.
