I am having trouble communicating with the nRF82532 and the DTM software. I am using nRF5_SDK_17.1.0 which has the DTM firmware. The project that I selected is: direct_test_mode_pca10040 for the Segger Embedded Studio for ARMv5.66.
As I stated before, I am using a custom board. I have only defined pin 9 as use in the serial configuration. I have looked through the sdk_config.h file and did not see any references to the pin 9. Not really sure where else to look for conflicts. As for trying a different pin, I will see if we can get P0.02 to work since it is exposed.

Thanks,

Could it be that pin 9 is defined as something else somewhere else in your application? I don't see why it shouldn't work with pin 9 configured as a GPIO correctly. If you could try with any other pin to see if it's specifically related to this pin that would be great too.

Best regards,

That should be what is required in terms of SW configuration. Are you using an nRF52832 DK or a custom board? If you're using the DK, R25 and R26 must be NC and R27 and R28 must be shorted by 0R on the DK to use the NFC pins as GPIOs as well.

Best regards,

I added that to the preprocessor definitions under the common so it would apply to the Release and Debug versions. Recompiled the Release and flashed the custom board. P0.09 is definitely an output but is not transmitting. On P0.04, I can see the command on the O-Scope coming in to the receive pin on the custom board.

Thanks,

I see that you have configured the TX pin to use pin P0.09, which is by default configured as an NFC pin (alongside P0.10) so I'm guessing that is what's causing issues when trying to connect to the DTM app for Desktop.

To use these pins as GPIOs you have to add the following preprocessor define "CONFIG_NFCT_PINS_AS_GPIOS" (add under project settings -> "Preprocessor" -> "Preprocessor definitions").
