I am working on a product with a NRF52840 and SDK 17.1.0 and a cell modem. This product needs the ability to update firmware over-the-air (using cell) or over BLE.

RE: IN APP DFU flash writes/erases timing out

Hi,

This is something that can happen if there is a lot of BLE activity, and the DFU protocol could perhaps have handled this in another way. The flash memory accesses are scheduled to not disturb radio events. See the SoftDevice documentation on this here: https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/sds_s140/SDS/s1xx/flash_mem_api/flash_mem_api.html

You could try to double NRF_FSTORAGE_SD_MAX_RETRIES
