I am using an nRF52833 dev kit and the Zigbee light_switch example from nRF Connect SDK.
I was trying to implement the sleep mode so I wanted to estimate the power consumption.
I followed this documentation to measure it with an ampere-meter

RE: Zigbee power consumption

Hi Romain,

I must admit that my problem is now fixed.

I don't know why but after reseting the board, I am now able to measure 1.6 µA.

Kind regards,

Are you enabling sleepy end device? Is 6mA the average current consumption or peaks? During start up and when the device is joining a network the current consumption will be high, but it should go down after this. You will of course also see an increase in current consumption when there is radio activity. The typical current for 802.15.4 radio activity can be found in the specification: Current consumption > Radio transmitting/receiving. Since you are seeing 6 mA it sounds like the radio is transmitting and/or receiving, and that the device is not in sleepy end device mode.

Best regards,
