1. Create JITP certificate using IMEI (Device ID)and your own six digit PIN like 123456 and then download certificate.

2. After downloading you shuld flash the certificate using LTE Link Monitor.(I think already you knew how to flash)

3. for exp. we can take Asset tracking V2 sample, in that prj.conf file you should add following CONFIG files and flash & Run

CONFIG_LTE_NETWORK_MODE_NBIOT_GPS=y

CONFIG_NET_IPV6=y

CONFIG_CLOUD_CLIENT_ID_USE_CUSTOM=y

# if you are using nRF9160 DK use IMEI following nrf-

CONFIG_CLOUD_CLIENT_ID="nrf-351358811475638"

# if you are using custom board use IMEI only

CONFIG_CLOUD_CLIENT_ID="351358811475638"

after done above things, follow below steps to add custom device in nRF Cloud,

nRF Cloud ->DEVICE MANAGEMENT -> ADD DEVICES -> LTE Device -> IMEI (Device Id) & PIN (what you used for creating JITP certificate) -> Click on Add Device

Ohh ok I will find way to get that Sim. After that on your previous response you mentioned in sim, they didn't provide any PUK number Right so how did you resolved this issue and connected to cloud. Because jio contains separate cloud but we need to connect to our nRF cloud right. How did you solve this issue?

yes, you are correct. But I don't know how to buy the sim card, because this thing taking care by purchase department.

yes, I have installed everything above mentioned.
actually, I'm working in 2 boards. One in US Pc using remote access and another one in India where we are having nRF9160 semiconductor with iBasis sim. Here in India when I try to connect iBasis sim LTE is not activated.

but when I connect in American PC LTE is connected. So, I think issue is in LTE iBasis sim bandwidth is not supported in India. Actually I'm in Tamil Nadu i don't know how to buy NB-IOT sim and don't know how to rectify this issue. Can you help me how to buy the sim here and connect with nRF cloud.

Hi,

As you said earlier, you can connect (using modified firmware) to your service provider cloud only. I would recommend that you talk to your cloud service provider again and ask them about the support for connecting to your Google cloud.

Hi,

Could you be more specific about the connection that you want to establish - is it connecting your device to your provider's custom cloud, provider's custom cloud to nRF Cloud, your device to nRF Cloud through your provider's cloud, or something else?

Sorry for late response. Today we have discussed with local service provider for cloud integration. They said we can connect with their cloud only, there will be needed some changes in firmware. I have take look into that.

Hi,

You should contact your network operator and asked them to provide you with the instructions how to activate your SIM card. Once your SIM card has been activated, you would just need to add your device to nRF Cloud and then you can use your device with your non-iBasis SIM card.

Hi,

Your talking about iBASIS sim card. But it's not working in India. Here NB-IoT services providing only by Reliance Jio. that's why we can use their sim only. But they are providing ICCID on the plastic card without PUK.

in this case what would do for add the device with nRF Cloud?

Hi,

You can find potential causes for the error 40412 in the nRF Cloud API documentation.

Regarding the activation of the SIM card, you can find information about ICCID on the plastic card that you got with your board and on the same side of the plastic card uncover the information about PUK. Enter both ICCID and PUK in appropriate places and check "I have read and agreed ..." and click "Activate SIM". Now, SIM card should be activated.

Next step is to add LTE device. Make sure that SIM card is inserted into nRF9160 device and then turn the device on. Enter Device-ID in the form "nrf-device_IMEI" where device_IMEI is IMEI that you can read from the label on your device. Then add PIN which is also given on the device's label and click on "Add Device" to add device.

After you have done 2 above-mentioned steps, your card should be activated and device added to the nRF Cloud.
