This config something that is implemented and used only in the samples gzll_ack_payload_host and gzll_ack_payload_device.

We do not understand what "add the Kconfig file to your sample/app" means.

If we run KConfig in the gzll_ack_payload_host example, "Packet transaction statistics" is checked. The gzll_ack_payload_host\build\zephyr\.config has CONFIG_GZLL_TX_STATISTICS=y. This is what we expected.

However, in our custom app, "Packet transaction statistics" is not available in KConfig.

The NCS learning curve is steep and we are simply not understanding. Can you provide an example of what you mean?

So you are building for a different sample / your custom application. In that case, add the Kconfig file to your sample/app.

We understand that KConfig for gzll_ack_payload_host and gzll_ack_payload_device are only valid for those samples.

Our question is simply how to enable in our project?

KConfig? Modify prj.conf?

It's a sample Kconfig for gzll_ack_payload_host and gzll_ack_payload_device samples, so it's only a valid config for these samples
