After going through one of the posts in more detail, mz PLEN setting was correct, but BleLR modes seem to not work with balen set to 4 and also do not work with TERMLEN less than 2.
Tested for BleLR_125Kbit mode

Edit: With TERMLEN set to 2 the packets still arrive, but the contents are incorrect (especially the length field is incorrect).

I would recommend that you enter debug mode and check the NRF_RADIO register content after applying your wanted settings. And do so on both ends to see that they match in the specific mode.
