I build them both using the same matter library that is installed with nrf v.2.0.2.
The Chiptool app runs on the phone, the Window Covering

RE: Matter commissioning fails - OnSrpClientNotification: Operation refused for security reasons

Thanks Charlie - resetting the OTBR/EERO6 worked!

RE: Matter commissioning fails - OnSrpClientNotification: Operation refused for security reasons

Hi Dan,

"E: 121100 [DL]OnSrpClientNotification: Operation refused for security reasons" error messages in the device logs mean that OTBR refuses to register DNS-SD services on behalf of the device. It is worth using the newest OTBR revision to rule out numerous SRP bugs that have been fixed in the past. Are you able to test with RPI-based OTBR? It is not clear to us how EERO6 works as an OTBR.

Another (more probable) reason may be that you are trying to use an already-reserved nodeID to commission the device. A typical mistake is the following scenario:

1) Developer commissions device using node ID 1

2) Developer factory resets the device

3) Developer tries to commission the same device using node ID=1.

In such a case, OTBR won't allow to register the same service again because it thinks it's already reserved. Resetting OTBR can be a workaround.

Best regards,
