Hi,

unchecked the "Enable debug options" box from build configurations. Now it is working fine whether I flash it directly from VScode or nrf-connect programmer.

That's good.

Maybe the toolchain was not configured correctly:

For flashing, maybe try to do a erase and flash

or just as an test, try to flash your compiled merged.hex with nrfjprog or nRF-Connect programmer app instead.

sorry for the delay in answering, but I was on holiday last week. So here are the results:

1) I was using LTE link monitor with correct COM port and still can't get it to work

however..

2) when I programmed your merged.zip -file to 9160DK it seems to be working just fine

I can work with this, but it still leaves me wondering what is the problem with my configuration or flashing with VS code of your serial_lte_modem example.

Hi,

It works fine here:

1) Try testing with LTE link monitor. It should select the correct COM port for you. You might have used the wrong COM port in your terminal program

2) Here is the compiled hex file I get when I compile the application. if it's still not working for you after testing step 1), could you try flashing the merged.hex attached below, and try to use that one instead?

updated modem FW and installed ncs v2.1.0, still not working.

That is a release candidate tag, so it has not been release tested. We have released v2.1.0 now. Please try that instead.

Looking at the Compatibility Matrix here, https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/comp_matrix_nrf9160/COMP/nrf9160/nrf9160_modem_fw.html , you should use modem firmware v1.3.2 when using NCS version 2.0.0 and newer. Hi,

Let me try to reproduce it here. Could you provide the following info?

1) nRF9160-DK version (Should be printed on the white sticker on the DK)

2) What nRF Connect SDK version you are using

3) Modem firmware version
