Does it behave like this in other terminals as well?

Ie. if you connect to the COM port using putty/teraterm/terminal/insert_your_favorite_here, is it unable to send from the PC to the thingy?

Sometimes it can help to restart the PC app (CTRL+R in LTE Link Monitor)

PS: you do not need to wait x amount of minutes, just ensure that it prints that it has started before issuing commands.

I tried that, but I only get timeouts. I ran the at_client for 15+ min and tried again, still timeouts.

I have already tried it with the precombiled at_client application, unfortunately without success.

I have also tried to re-update modem firmware. The update was successful, however I get the same errors.

The log shows many errors wrt. initial setup of the modem, where as this indicates that a AT command to the modem fails:

nrf_cloud_integration: Not able to retrieve device IMEI from modem

Have you been able to successfully connect to a network using at_client only?

Use LTE Link monitor from nRF connect for desktop, and issue these AT commands:

at+cereg=5
at+cfun=1
at+cfun?

And please paste the overall output.
