1. Not the solder itself but t he solder process may be the problem. Like temperature, time etc.

2. That depends on price, availability etc. It's hard to recommend other manufacturers components here, but take a look at Avago, Murata, Johanson Technologies.

1. This is most probably a solder issue.

2. The antenna is too small. For a module like this, it's really not possible to make a PCB antenna on this space with reasonable efficiency. The only option is to use a chip antenna.
