My apologies. I just got it to work by doing the following: clicked on Welcome --> Open Folder then opened the folder for my current project, then clicked on the nrf Connect icon in the side panel, found Actions, then nrf Kconfig gui. Clicked on that and it worked. It seemed like a very round about way to go about it but it work. I thought before then that I could just highlight the current application under Applications but that didn't work.

I too am having problems with the nrf Kconfig gui. When I click on the icon absolutely nothing happens. What do I need to do? This is with Visual Studio Code Version 1.85.1. I get no error messages, no response at all. I have been able to get guiconfig to work. Don't understand why one works and the other doesn't.

Hi Ron,

Our internal team says that, you mentioned that the issue happens when opening a project that's also a West workspace, but we can't reproduce this. We also encounter no issues with opening the lorawan/class_a sample in the Kconfig GUI. Unfortunately we don't have the capacity to investigate this any deeper, so they would have to suggest that you use either Guiconfig or menuconfig when working with that application.

Is this issue still active?

What files are required in order for Kconfig to open? The error message does not give any details, just that it is unable to find Kconfig information. What information is required? I must be missing one or more files in the the project folder or its build folder.

Hi Priyanka.

The active project is lorawan\\class_a. If I switch to getline or getchar, then Kconfig works okay. Those projects were created from the samples.

The lorawan project was copied from the SDK,C:\\Source\\OurCust\\OurCustReferenceDesign\\Nordic_VSCode_Sample_Code\zephyr\samples\subsys\lorawan. Although Kconfig does not work here, Guiconfig and Menuconfig do work correctly.

Hi Ron,

We were not able to replicate the issue. But this could be a bug on our end. You have a lot of applications open in the workspace. Which one is active when you try to open the KConfig GUI? Does this happen with all the applications in the workspace? Also, are your applications based on any sample?
