I'm trying to implement directed advertising on the BLE codeded PHY.
My setup of consists of two identical NRF5340 based custom boards, running FW based on the nrf SDK v1.7.1.
The devices are bonded, directed advertising one the 1M

RE: Directed Advertising on the BLE coded PHY?

Thank you very much for your quick reply Simon!

RE: Directed Advertising on the BLE coded PHY?

Hi

This is a limitation of the Bluetooth spec. as directed advertising is designed to connect to a scanning device as quickly as possible, while the Coded PHY does all advertising and data transfers at ~1/8th the speed due to transmitting all advertisements multiple times on different secondary channels. Which is how Coded PHY increases the range of connections. See this blog post on Coded PHY at NovelBits and the official "how advertising works" blog on Bluetooth.com for info on directed advertising.

Best regards,
