Hi,

It depends on whether the flashed image supports USB or not.

I assume it uses the native USB port of the nRF52840, so you would have to flash an application that utilizes the USB port in order for it to enumerate on the PC. Since you say it works with the CLI-FTD application, I assume you then used the one with USB transport. If you created a new application based on the tutorial, this might not implement USB support (I did not read through it). What did you flash to the board? Does it enable the USB?

Yes that's what I use to flash. My problem is after flashing if I plug it in via usb it is not recognized anymore.

I'm a bit confused with the ides, to be honest. That's why I'm using Atom. I know there is segger embedded studio but I don't really understand how I set up a new project that fits my board and chip precisely.

Can you recommend any ides?

I'm using the segger j-link to flash the feather, but after that if i connect it via usb it is not recognized anymore

I believe it needs a Segger J-Link debugger or the onboard debugger on DK to debug Adafruit Feather nrf52840. Please contact https://forums.adafruit.com/ on how to set up Feather nrf52840 express on PC.

Hi Emily
The tutorial you reference is about a nrf52840DK this board comes with onboard segger chip that support flasher & debugging.
this chip is not present on the adfruit feather.

The adafruit website has some great tutorial but most of them uses the arduino ide (or such) that may regocnize the board as-is when connecting via the usb (like with the arduino uno board.)

Hence my question what software are you using?

Hi Emily,

Are you shure the usb port on the adafruit feather nrf52840 express is supporting (onboard or by a driver) flashing & debugging?
if not the you should use the SWD connector on the feather board and connect it to a flasher (like a segger j-link)
