I was wondering if that could be used to implement 802.15.4 which would save us an entire IC and power and like basically be amazing.

The modulation scheme used in 16-ary orthogonal modulation using Direct Sequence Spread
Spectrum technique.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;With BLE and with nrf5x chips the modulation scheme used is Gaussian frequency shift keying (GFSK) with BLE having a bit rate of 1 Mbps &amp;amp; modulation index between 0.45 &amp;amp; 0.55. So right at the physical layer there is incompatibility.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Some CC26xx chips from TI has radio compatible with both BLE and 802.15.4, although in my opinion getting started with that chip is arguably harder than nrf5x chips.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
