thanks, but that's not just for me but all people that use C++ projects and it increases the complexity for setting up a woring toolchain.

Sorry that you had to wait so long for this small fix. On the other hand, it won't be blocker to you as you can change it in your project. Yes, I understand the frustration that you need to remember to do this everytime there is new release.

It's a well know, long persisting "issue" with the SDK: devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../.

I suspect he's using C++ which is picky about such things.

I use GCC and every SDK since 6 has compiled. 5 compiled as well with a minor tweak to the linker scripts.

What version of the SDK is that and what version of GCC are you using? Are you using the official version from ARM at their launchpad site? What is your host OS?
