I developed a firmware that can be used in nrf52833-CJAA-R, but it can't be used in the nrf52833-CJAA-B.

I don't think your problems are related to a new revision of the nRF52833.

It seems you are able to both program and verify when programming, have you tried debugging also?

I think the problem are electrical, have you tried to control any other GPIO?

Have anyone from Nordic reviewed your schematic and layout?

Best regards,
Kenneth

RE: the development difference of nrf52833-CJAA-R and nrf52833-CJAA-B

Thanks for you reply, follow your advice, I do the following step:
1. Remove the code I have inserted in the start of main().
2. download nrf_mdk_8_51_0_gcc_bsdlicense.zip and update it to nordic_sdk_17.1.0/modules/nrfx/mdk
3. nrfjprog --recover followed by nrfjprog --memrd 0x10001208
0x10001208: 0000005A
4. I recompile the code and burn nrf-CJAA-B, it still failed to run my program.

In addition that, my program is very easy, it only pull pin 3 up. the failure is I did't detect the high level of pin 3.

#define NRF_IRQ_PIN NRF_GPIO_PIN_MAP(0,3)

nrf_gpio_cfg_output(NRF_IRQ_PIN);
nrf_gpio_pin_set(NRF_IRQ_PIN);

RE: the development difference of nrf52833-CJAA-R and nrf52833-CJAA-B

Hello,

Are you sure the problem you experiene is due to readback protection and not something else?

In any case, if you want to disable readback protection while programming and debugging you can do it like this:

Remove the code you have inserted in the start of main().

Download the latest nRF MDK files and update the files in nRF5_SDK_xxxx\modules\nrfx\mdk:
https://www.nordicsemi.com/Products/Development-tools/nRF-MDK/Download?lang=en#infotabs
(Note: If you are using Keil you need to this a bit differently, but I assume you are using SES here.)

Also, can you update to the nRF Command Line Tools:
https://www.nordicsemi.com/Products/Development-tools/nrf-command-line-tools/download

Now run for instance nrfjprog --recover followed by nrfjprog --memrd 0x10001208. The register should now readback 0x5A. You can now program and run your project.

By doing the above changes there should be no need for the application to do any code changes. Make sure you don't define ENABLE_APPROTECT in your preprocessor or project, since that will enable readback protection again.

If you want to enable readback protection later you can for instance use nrfjprog --rbp ALL followed by a nrfjprog --debugreset.

Best regards,
Kenneth
