I followed your nrfTools link and updated my current setup. I am able to upload the program now. But it requires that I erase the flash first, why? Also in the tutorial mentioned, it just demonstrated a use case, is there any tutorial where dfu is explained in details, or will I have to rely on the infocenter for it? Thanks for the reply :)

Is what you have pasted the whole error message? It looks like it is only the command executed. Have you assured that you have installed nrfjprog in the path you posted? It is bundled with the nrfTools which can be downloaded from our website. The hex file is a bootloader, and it therefore makes sense that it worked to flash it as one. You can see that it is inside the bootloader folder in the path you posted. Have you checked out the DFU tutorial?
