&lt;p&gt;The sd_rand_ functions found &lt;a href="https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/com.nordic.infocenter.s140.api.v7.2.0/group___n_r_f___s_o_c___f_u_n_c_t_i_o_n_s.html?cp=4_7_4_2_2_7_2_44#gaad12d1ebe6550185897326166e3d4591%20+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+"&gt;here&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;lets the SoftDevice use the RNG peripheral to generate true non-deterministic random numbers. Alternatively the &lt;a href="https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/index.jsp?topic=%2Fsdk_nrf5_v17.1.0%2Flib_crypto_rng.html"&gt;RNG module in the crypto frontend&lt;/a&gt; modules can be used in order to use the CryptoCell CC310 cryptographic subsystem.&lt;/p&gt;
