In my application, I take mac address of chip and make major, minor value (device 's ID) and I need mac address is a constant value. As I know, mac address is a unique value for each chip but on my test it always change. Can you tell me what

RE: MAC ADDRESS AUTOMATICALLY CHANGE

I'm not sure what the problem is. If FICR->DEVICEADDR[0] == 0xFFFFFFFF and FICR->DEVICEADDR[1] == 0x0000FFFF the SoftDevice will generate a new address on reset. If it is anything else, it should use the address that is there. Please check this.

RE: MAC ADDRESS AUTOMATICALLY CHANGE

If FICR address change after reset, what problem is ?

If FICR address do not change but MAC address change, What problem is ?

Because I receive response from my partner far from here so I can not test with this device.

RE: MAC ADDRESS AUTOMATICALLY CHANGE

Then I would believe it is a hardware issue yes. You could try to read out the FICR->DEVICEADDR[x] registers using nrfjprog and see if you see anything suspicious with the address. I dont' think the problem is with the SoftDevice, but with the address in FICR.

RE: MAC ADDRESS AUTOMATICALLY CHANGE

No, I don't change anything. Moreover, I have many device but this situation happen in only 1 device so how do you think? Is it hardware problem?

And what do you mean about "the SoftDevice is unable to get an address from FICR"? Something wrong in SoftDevice?

RE: MAC ADDRESS AUTOMATICALLY CHANGE

The BLE address should be static. It is fetched from FICR->DEVICEADDR[x], which is programmed in production. Please see this for more information. If the SoftDevice is unable to get an address from FICR it will generate one randomly. This will stored persistently, and will change between resets. Have you modified FICR in your chips?

RE: MAC ADDRESS AUTOMATICALLY CHANGE

@Petter
